Inhale Love, Exhale Hate

Sometimes someone says something really small
and it fits right into this empty place in your heart.

We get bored with the routine and crave beauty and excitement.
Fire is beautiful and we know that if we get too close it will kill us.
But what does that matter?
It is better to be happy for a moment and
be burned up with beauty
than to live a long time and be bored all the while.

Tragedy, sadness, loneliness and despair taught me
that life is really a beautiful thing; if it wasn't
I wouldn't be able to recognize that anything was wrong

No, life cannot be understood flat on a page.
It has to be lived; a person has to get out of his head,
has to fall in love, has to memorize poems,
has to jump off bridges into rivers,
has to stand in an empty desert and whisper sonnets under his breath...
We get one story, you and I, and one story alone.

Your mistakes do not define you now
and tell you who you're not
you've got to live this life
like it's the only one you've got
because it is.

Don't hide your madness.

 Never let go of hope.
One day you will see that it all has finally come together.
What you have always wished for has finally come to be.
You will look back and laugh at what has passed
and you will ask yourself... 'How did I get through all of that?

The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers.

The most important thing to remember is this:
to be ready at any moment to give up what you are for what you might become.

Dear Love...

Dear love,

You have been the greatest. My fear is that no one will ever be what you are to me, today i had to make a decision. I could no longer live in limbo, I could no longer live without you and with you all at the same time, i could not think of everyone else who has you when I'm not there or that you might avoid me the next day after loving me the night before. You may call me cowardice, but I have waited for far too long. A girl can only wait for so long.

So i don’t want to ruin this. I bite my tongue to stomach fear; I know its taste in my mouth, its texture at the back of my throat; copper and cotton.. but i love you more than i fear the future, so i cannot let it choke me any longer.

I want you to know how amazing you are, even though you may not think so…because though you aren't perfect, you are to me. If you had asked me what i wanted in a man, what I needed, I could list it all.. but instead the qualities could all be summed up by saying your name. You are incredible and a man who will achieve all and know no boundaries, I am drawn to your soul like it was made to light mine up but I know that you can't be it.

Even though you were my Mr., you can't be him because my soul mate will feel it too,
but he will tell me it's true.

love, me xo

Summer Love Adventures

“Oh, it’s nobody’s fault but my own! I was looking up…
it was the nearest thing to heaven! You were there…”

“It was a million tiny little things that, when you added them all up, they meant we were supposed to be together … and I knew it. I knew it the very first time I touched her. It was like coming home. ..
only to no home I’d ever known … I was just taking her hand to help her out of a car and I knew.
 It was like … magic.”

“No, I don’t think I will kiss you, although you need kissing, badly. That’s what’s wrong with you. You should be kissed and often, and by someone who knows how.”

“What I really want to do with my life — what I want to do for a living
is ..I want to be with your daughter. I’m good at it.”

“Don’t forget I’m just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her.”

“Me? I’m scared of everything. I’m scared of what I saw, I’m scared of what I did, of who I am, and most of all I’m scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life the way I feel when I’m with you.”

I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down
You know the one that takes you to the places where all the veins meet.

The meeting of two personalities is like the contact
of two chemical substances:
if there is any reaction, both are transformed.

“So it’s not gonna be easy. It’s gonna be really hard. We’re gonna have to work at this every day, but I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, for ever, you and me, every day. Will you do something for me, please? Just picture your life for me? 30 years from now, 40 years from now? What’s it look like? If it’s with him, go. Go! I lost you once, I think I can do it again. If I thought that’s what you really wanted. But don’t you take the easy way out.”

Live the Life you Love

To be nobody but myself -- in a world which is doing its best, night
and day, to make you everybody else -- means to fight the hardest
battle which any human being can fight, and never stop fighting.
^E.E. Cummings^

For what it's worth: it's never too late or, in my case,
too early to be whoever you want to be.
There's no time limit, stop whenever you want.
You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing.
We can make the best or the worst of it.
I hope you make the best of it.
And I hope you see things that startle you.
I hope you feel things you never felt before.
I hope you meet people with a different point of view.
I hope you live a life you're proud of.
If you find that you're not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.

Most people tell you you're not good simply because
they are afraid that you are. Don't ever forget that.

May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness.
I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you're wonderful,
and don't forget to make some art--
write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can; and i hope,
somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.
-Neil Gaiman

"...Life and death, energy and peace. If I stop today it was still worth it.
Even the terrible mistakes that I made and would have unmade if I could.
The pains that have burned me and scarred my soul, it was worth it,
for having been allowed to walk where I've walked, which was to
hell on earth, heaven on earth, back again, into, under, far in between,
through it, and above."

Taking Chances

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about taking chances,
and how it’s really just about overcoming your fears.
Because the truth is, every time you take a big risk in your life,
no matter how it ends up, you’re always glad you took it.

This heart didn't come with instructions

Adapt or die. As many times as we've heard it, the lesson doesn't get easier. The problem is we're human. We want more than just to survive. We want love. We want success. We want to be the best that we can be. So, we fight like hell to get those things. Anything else feels like death

There's a reason I said I'd be happy alone. It wasn't 'cause I thought I'd be happy alone. It was because I thought if I loved someone and then it fell apart, I might not make it. It's easier to be alone, because what if you learn that you need love and you don't have it? What if you like it and lean on it? What if you shape your life around it and then it falls apart? Can you even survive that kind of pain? Losing love is like organ damage. It's like dying. The only difference is death ends. This? It could go on forever
.

"Does it break my heart, of course, every moment of every day,
into more pieces than my heart was made of,
I never thought of myself as quiet, much less silent,
I never thought about things at all, everything changed,
the distance that wedged itself between me and my happiness wasn't the world,
it wasn't the bombs and burning buildings,
it was me, my thinking, the cancer of never letting go, is ignorance bliss,
I don't know, but it's so painful to think, and tell me,
what did thinking ever do for me, to what great place did thinking ever bring me?
I think and think and think,
I've thought myself out of happiness one million times, but never once into it."
^Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close - Jonathan Safran^
